On November 13, 2024, the second Transnational Project Meeting (TPM) of the PETIT project, titled “Enhancing Coaches  Motor Skills development for children took place in Samobor, Croatia. The primary goal of the meeting was to evaluate the project’s progress, present research findings, and discuss the next steps for improving children’s motor skills through structured and innovative training methodologies.

The PETIT project consortium successfully assessed the progress achieved so far and developed a clear action plan for the upcoming months. Key tasks include creating content for the Virtual Trainers’ Forum (VTF), conducting promotional activities, and continuing efforts to disseminate the project results. The partners agreed that developing innovative and adaptable training methods for children’s motor skills is essential for achieving the project objectives.

The PETIT project focuses on creating tools and approaches that will enable coaches to work more effectively with children while contributing to the long-term development of their motor skills. During the meeting, key research findings were presented, highlighting the importance of early motor skill development and the role of coaches in this process. These findings will form the foundation for preparing content and tools to be made available through the VTF platform, designed to support coaches in their work.

Among the important topics of discussion was the need to adapt methodologies to different age groups of children, incorporating innovative technologies and tailored exercises designed to meet individual children’s needs. The partners emphasized that collaboration among coaches, parents, and educational institutions is crucial for achieving sustainable results and contributing to the holistic development of children.

The next steps in the project include preparing interactive content for the Virtual Trainers’ Forum, which will serve as a platform for knowledge exchange and sharing best practices among coaches across Europe. Additionally, the partners will organize promotional events and workshops to raise awareness about the importance of developing children’s motor skills and encourage the broader adoption of methodologies developed under the PETIT project.

The goal of the PETIT project is to establish a comprehensive training program for coaches by 2025, contributing to improved motor skills in children, fostering their physical activity, and promoting a healthy lifestyle. The project serves as an example of successful international collaboration, bringing together partners from various countries who share a common goal – creating a better future for children through the development of their motor skills.

The PETIT project presents an opportunity to enhance the quality of training while strengthening the role of coaches as key contributors to children’s development. With the help of innovative tools like the VTF and the exchange of knowledge and experiences among partners, the project will make a significant contribution to advancing the field of children’s sports education.
